A video has surfaced on social media showing passersby detaining a young man suspected of committing indecent acts against a 75-year-old woman in the Yashnabad district of Tashkent. The capital's Main Internal Affairs Department has provided details of the incident.

According to the department, the incident occurred on August 4 at approximately 5:30 AM in the Shirinobod area. Law enforcement officers established that a 22-year-old man, who was intoxicated, committed indecent acts against the elderly woman and then attempted to flee. However, he was stopped by passersby and handed over to police officers.

The detained man explained his actions by saying he was drunk and asked not to call law enforcement. He claimed he did not realize what he was doing.

Administrative protocols were drawn up against the young man under articles on petty hooliganism, consumption of alcohol in public places, and failure to comply with lawful demands of law enforcement officers.

The case materials have been sent to the Yashnabad District Criminal Court for a decision. The court will determine the appropriate punishment in accordance with the law.
