Customs officers at the Navoi post in the Tashkent region have foiled an attempt to illegally export gold from Uzbekistan.
A woman crossing the border had hidden two gold bars weighing about 200 grams in the diaper of her infant child. During inspection, customs officers also found undeclared jewelry weighing 70 grams.
According to preliminary data, the total value of the seized gold and jewelry is approximately 450 million soums.
An investigation is underway, and legal action will be taken against the woman. The State Customs Committee urges citizens to comply with the law and declare valuable items.
