On August 9 at 08:33 local time, an earthquake struck the Andijan region of Uzbekistan, according to the Seismological Monitoring Center.

The epicenter was located in the Markhamat district, 276 kilometers southeast of Tashkent. The magnitude was recorded at 3, with a depth of 10 kilometers.

The tremors were felt at 2-3 magnitude in the epicentral area. Residents reported noticeable shaking, but no immediate damage has been reported.

Emergency services are assessing the situation, though no official statements on potential consequences have been issued yet.

Seismologists reassure the public that such minor earthquakes are common in this seismically active region and do not pose a significant threat.
