In Namangan region, law enforcement authorities have prevented the sale of pharmaceutical products worth 577.4 million soums (approximately $47,000) that lacked quality certification documents. The operation was carried out by the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office and other law enforcement agencies.

During a raid on a house in the Boburshoh neighborhood, officers discovered over 13,000 packages of 56 different types of medicines stored for subsequent sale. All the medicines were confiscated as material evidence, effectively halting their distribution.

A criminal case has been opened under the article on production, acquisition, storage, transportation, or sale of low-quality or counterfeit medicines with intent to sell, along with other violations related to drug trafficking. Investigative actions are currently underway.

This incident follows a recent case in Tashkent where customs officers intercepted an attempt to import over 160,000 packages of counterfeit Efba antibiotic worth more than 7.3 billion soums. The shipment, weighing over 21 tons, was falsely documented as produced in India, but the packaging lacked information about the manufacturer and country of origin.
