Advertisements for loans with low interest rates are circulating on social media. Users are lured into Telegram, where they are asked for personal and banking details, and then requested to pay 350,000 soums to 'speed up' the loan approval process.
A member of the 'Consumer.Uz' community highlighted this scheme. He said he saw an ad on Facebook for a loan on favorable terms and followed the link to Telegram.
There, a person posing as a manager asked for passport details, phone number, and bank card information. To test the offer, the user sent fictitious data.
Subsequently, he received a PDF document containing supposedly his personal information, the 'approved' loan amount, and the interest rate. The manager then demanded a transfer of 350,000 soums, claiming it was necessary to expedite the loan processing.
The author of the post called it a fraudulent scheme. Other users in the comments also warned about the dangers of such offers.
In this regard, users are urged not to trust loan offers received through social media and messengers, and not to share personal and banking data with unknown individuals. When applying for a loan, one should contact the bank directly and use only its official channels.
It should be noted that real banks do not require advance payment for issuing loans and do not process loans through dubious bots. Moreover, sharing personal data and transferring money to unknown persons can lead to serious consequences.
Earlier, a fraudulent scheme involving fictitious loans was suppressed in the Kashkadarya region. Suspects used forged documents and obtained loans totaling 783 million soums in the names of 12 citizens.
