A ceremony to launch new projects in the Khorezm region and commence construction of promising facilities took place at the Farovon Khiva Hotel in Khiva, according to the press service of the head of state.
"Today, together with you, we will commission 12 projects worth $176 million. In addition, we will start construction of 15 new facilities worth $7 billion 424 million, which will be built with the participation of foreign partners," the president said.
Specifically, in the Tuprokkala district, a project to produce environmentally friendly aviation fuel worth $6 billion will be implemented jointly with partners from the UAE. Chinese company Sinopec has been attracted to the project, and work has begun on preparing the land plot and developing project documentation.
Together with Slovak partners, it is planned to develop 5,000 hectares of sandy lands and create a bioethanol production enterprise worth $170 million. Practical work has already begun on an area of 1,500 hectares.
In the city of Urgench, a 250-bed hotel and shopping and entertainment complex worth $30 million is being built jointly with Japanese partners. The full launch of the project is scheduled for 2027.
Together with a partner from Saudi Arabia, a modern boiler house will be built in the regional center, which will provide heat and electricity to 183 apartment buildings and 37 social facilities. Together with Turkish partners, an ophthalmology clinic will be created on the basis of public-private partnership.
In the Urgench district, with the participation of Korean investors, for the first time in the republic, a project will be implemented to process waste on a closed-loop basis and generate "green" energy with a capacity of 71 megawatts. $100 million will be invested in the project.
In addition, on a territory of 26 hectares adjacent to Khiva, a modern tourist complex "Sahro Yulduzi" worth $120 million will be created. In the Urgench district, a copper industry cluster worth $26 million and an enterprise for the production of fiber-optic cables worth $60 million will be built.
In the town of Al-Khorezmi, a modern university for 5,000 students will be built, as well as a hotel, recreational and shopping complexes. In Urgench, the "Investors' House" building will be erected.
It is emphasized that the implementation of these projects provides for the creation of 6,600 new jobs. The head of state expressed gratitude to foreign partners and representatives of the public participating in the implementation of these projects.
By pressing a symbolic button, Shavkat Mirziyoyev commissioned new projects and gave start to construction work.
