Tashkent, Uzbekistan – AN Podrobno.uz. Kuvonchbek Ismailov has become the world champion in Greco-Roman wrestling among athletes under 20 years old.

The World Wrestling Championship is being held in Bratislava, Slovakia. On the first day of the competition, Greco-Roman wrestling bouts took place.

In the final of the 63 kg weight category, Ismailov faced Russian Salim Karmakhov. The Uzbek wrestler won with a score of 9:7 and claimed the gold medal of the world championship.

Earlier, four Uzbek freestyle wrestlers became medalists at the World Championship for athletes under 17, held in the capital of Azerbaijan. Following the latest competition day, the Uzbekistan team secured 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.
