President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held an open dialogue with business representatives in the Khorezm region on August 18, announcing that the country's entrepreneurial community has reached 1.2 million people. He also congratulated entrepreneurs on their professional holiday.
According to the president, over the five years since the first such meeting, 84 laws and 861 decrees and resolutions have been adopted to support entrepreneurial activity. As a result, the credit portfolio for businesses has nearly tripled, reaching 450 trillion soums, while tax and customs benefits provided amounted to 650 trillion soums.
During the same period, enterprise investments in fixed capital tripled to 363 trillion soums. The geography of industrial production and services is also expanding: the number of districts with industrial output exceeding $100 million increased from 66 to 116, and areas with services exceeding 1 trillion soums grew from 41 to 152.
Furthermore, about 3,500 domestic enterprises have entered international marketplaces, and hundreds of entrepreneurs who started at the mahalla level have opened branches nationwide and created their own brands. "Today, our entrepreneurs are transitioning from the stage of business creation to the stage of capital accumulation," Mirziyoyev emphasized.
This open dialogue was the largest ever held, with about 25,000 entrepreneurs participating for the first time. Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan will introduce a unified register of mandatory requirements for entrepreneurs, and businesses cannot be held liable for non-compliance with requirements not included in this system.
