Uzbekistan is set to allow entrepreneurs to purchase 2,500 real estate properties held on the balance sheets of commercial banks under preferential conditions. The total value of these assets is estimated at 9 trillion soums.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev made the announcement on August 18 during an open dialogue with entrepreneurs in the Khorezm region. The properties will be sold at a discount, with no down payment and the possibility of interest-free installments.

This move is intended to enable entrepreneurs to acquire bank-owned assets without the need for a significant upfront payment. Additionally, buyers will be exempt from land and property taxes for one year after the purchase.

The initiative aims to bring these assets into economic circulation and provide businesses with new opportunities to launch or expand projects. However, specific lists of properties, discount conditions, and sale timelines have not been disclosed.

Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan would introduce a unified register of mandatory requirements for entrepreneurs, ensuring that businesses cannot be held liable for non-compliance with requirements not included in the system.
