The Tashkent city administration has assured that the renowned flea market 'Yangiabad' will not be transformed into a typical modern shopping complex. During the renovation, its specialization, recognizable atmosphere, and the spots of current vendors will be preserved.
The plans include creating necessary sanitary conditions, enhancing security levels, and arranging convenient walkways and parking areas. The project also envisions infrastructure development and overall improvement of the market area.
Currently, city officials together with designers are working on a renovation concept for 'Yangiabad'. It is intended to be submitted for public discussion, allowing residents, visitors, and sellers to review the proposals and voice their opinions.
The timeline for the start and completion of the works has not been announced yet. Earlier, it was reported that the 'Kadysheva' market in Tashkent would be improved, with landscaping and parking lot upgrades.
