Three young men in Tashkent have been brought to administrative responsibility following a conflict with police officers who demanded they stop rollerblading on the grounds of the Center for Islamic Civilization. Footage of the incident previously circulated on social media.
According to the Almalyk district police department, the incident occurred on August 16 at around 9:00 PM. A group of youths was rollerblading near the spiritual and educational complex. Law enforcement officers on duty issued a warning and asked them to stop, explaining that the area was not designated for such activities. However, the young men ignored the warning.
To resolve the situation, an additional police squad arrived at the scene. Protocols were drawn up against the violators, and the collected materials were sent to the Almalyk district criminal court.
After reviewing the case, the court found the three participants guilty under Article 183 (petty hooliganism) and Part 1 of Article 194 (disobedience to a lawful order of a police officer) of the Code of Administrative Responsibility. Two of the individuals were fined, while the third was sentenced to 10 days of administrative arrest. Subsequently, the young men publicly apologized for their behavior, stating that they realized their mistake and drew conclusions.
Law enforcement emphasized that the Center for Islamic Civilization is visited daily by thousands of residents and guests of the capital, including children, elderly people, and tourists. Rollerblading, scootering, and cycling at high speeds among pedestrians poses a direct threat to their safety. In this regard, public representatives and the Ministry of Internal Affairs once again urged citizens to maintain order and use only specially equipped areas for active recreation.
