Tashkent, Uzbekistan – President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the "Yangi Uzbekistan" park in Tashkent, where he laid a wreath at the foot of the Independence Monument.

The ceremony was held on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence. The monument is part of a majestic complex that reflects the country's centuries-old history, images of great scientists and commanders, as well as important events in Uzbekistan's history. The Humo bird installed at the top of the monument symbolizes freedom, goodness, and the aspirations of the people.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Legislative Chamber and Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Presidential Administration, the Cabinet of Ministers, and the public of Tashkent.

Earlier that day, Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in a ceremony commemorating victims of political repression at the "Shahidlar Khotirasi" Alley in Tashkent. On the eve of the 35th anniversary of independence, the president called for preserving historical memory and cherishing the peace and freedom that the country enjoys today.
