President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated that New Tashkent will become one of the main centers of science, education, culture, and development in the country, speaking at a ceremony marking the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence.
The head of state congratulated the people on the national holiday and noted the symbolic significance of holding the celebrations in New Tashkent.
The day before, new buildings of the New University of Uzbekistan, the Nizami National Pedagogical University, and the National Library of Uzbekistan were opened here.
Additionally, a musical fountain, recognized as the world's tallest by the Guinness Book of Records, will be inaugurated as part of the festivities.
According to Mirziyoyev, New Tashkent is being created on a site where the dreams of several generations are coming true.
"I am confident that New Tashkent will give a new look to our capital and become a true development center, demonstrating the strength and potential of the New Uzbekistan we are building," the president said.
