Tashkent – A presentation on the development of the electrical engineering industry and support for the production of competitive goods was held for President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The event outlined ambitious targets: by 2030, Uzbekistan plans to increase exports of electrical engineering products to $5 billion and raise total production in the sector and related areas to $11 billion.

The presentation highlighted significant growth in recent years. Production volume surged from 4.7 trillion soums in 2018 to 43.1 trillion soums, while exports exceeded $1 billion. Currently, Uzbek products are supplied to 65 countries, demonstrating the sector's expanding international reach and competitiveness.

In the first seven months of 2026, the industry produced goods worth 30 trillion soums and exported products worth $706 million. To support enterprises, a mechanism for purchasing copper raw materials has been introduced: companies will pay 25% of the cost, with the remaining 75% covered by Uzsanoatexport. A total of $50 million will be allocated for this purpose. Additionally, large international brands investing at least $50 million will be offered tax incentives and ready-to-use buildings with infrastructure.

Earlier, Uzbekistan and Serbia adopted an Action Plan for industrial cooperation for 2026–2028, with electrical engineering production identified as a priority area. This underscores Uzbekistan's efforts to expand international industrial partnerships and attract foreign investment into key sectors of the economy.
