Tashkent plans to extend the promenade along the Salar Canal from the Mirzo Ulugbek district administration building to Central Park. The district administration announced this by publishing draft sketches of the project. The total length of the area to be landscaped will be approximately 1.5 km.

The new promenade will feature pedestrian and bicycle paths, benches and gazebos, as well as children's and workout areas. These measures are aimed at supporting recreation and an active lifestyle for residents.

In addition, commercial facilities are planned on the first floors of houses No. 1A, 2, 3, 5, and 7 in the Mirzakalon Ismoiliy mahalla. However, there is no information about the consent of the apartment owners. This issue may spark mixed reactions among local residents.

In spring, the newspaper wrote about a small park opened near the district administration. Barriers were removed, paths were created, and benches, children's playgrounds, and sports areas were installed. However, a few months later, cars began parking on the promenade. This indicates that similar problems could arise in the new project.

The sketches show that a high fence will be installed along the canal, similar to the one near the district administration, and the bicycle path will run alongside the fence. This means pedestrians will not be able to see the canal water or even get close to it or the fence. It is also unclear whether measures will be taken to clean the canal water, into which sewage is discharged from various sources. This issue could raise serious environmental concerns.
