Octobank has expanded its internet acquiring services by integrating Apple Pay and Google Pay for Uzbekistan Airways. Now, when purchasing airline tickets online, passengers no longer need to manually enter bank card details — they can simply select a digital wallet and confirm the payment on their smartphone.

The payment process uses tokenized data: actual bank card details are not transmitted to the merchant. This enhances security and protects personal information.

According to Vladimir Vasilyev, Managing Director for Cross-Border Money Transfers and E-Commerce at Octobank, the ability to pay for an airline ticket with just a few taps on a smartphone is becoming part of the usual customer experience. "For Octobank, it is important to develop payment solutions that not only add a new payment method but make the purchase process faster and more convenient. It is especially important that the first partners were large companies from the aviation and tourism industries. We expect that in the future this technology will be in demand by other e-commerce and service sector representatives," he noted.

Uzbekistan Airways press service emphasized that the new payment method has made online ticket purchases more convenient for passengers. "Thanks to the technological solution implemented jointly with Octobank, our customers can now pay for airline tickets via Apple Pay and Google Pay without manually entering bank card details. We value cooperation with Octobank and its contribution to the development of modern digital payment solutions for Uzbekistan's aviation industry," the statement reads.
