Uzbekistan national team defender Behruz Karimov scored his first goal for Swiss Super League side Lugano in their 8th-round match against St. Gallen.
In the 36th minute, Karimov capitalized on a goalkeeper error following a long ball from a teammate, dribbled between two defenders, and found the net to make it 4-0.
Lugano scored all four goals in the first half, and the match ended 4-1. Karimov was substituted in the second half.
Lugano currently tops the Swiss Super League with 22 points from 7 wins and 1 draw.
Recall that Karimov moved from Surkhon to Lugano in August, signing a contract until 2031. According to Championat Asia, the transfer cost the Swiss club €250,000, and Surkhon will receive 10% of any future sale.
The player's agent, Gayrat Khasbiullin, spoke to Gazeta about Karimov's choice of club and his future career plans.
