Tashkent, Uzbekistan – AN Podrobno.uz. Uzbekistan will create a unified statistical register of the population. The new system will enable calculation of the country's population and regular publication of up-to-date data.
This is stipulated by a new presidential decree. The system is planned to be launched by the end of 2027, using the results of the population and agricultural censuses. Databases of government agencies containing population information will be harmonized and integrated into the register for continuous updating.
Before launch, the information system will undergo an expert review by the Cybersecurity Center. After the register is introduced, its security will be constantly monitored. Access to the system will be granted only to authorized employees, who may use the data exclusively for generating aggregated statistics. The use of individual data by government agencies, organizations, and other persons is prohibited.
Simultaneously, a statistical register of agriculture will be formed. These measures are part of the national strategy "Development of Statistics – 2030", which also includes modernization of statistical systems, transition to international standards, and reduction of reporting burden.
Earlier, it was reported that according to preliminary results of the first general census in modern Uzbekistan's history, the country's population exceeded 39 million people.
