Renowned Russian stage and film actor Sergey Bezrukov has officially received Uzbekistan’s prestigious state decoration, the Order of 'Dustlik' (Friendship), which was conferred by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The artist expressed profound pride in receiving the accolade and voiced hope for future bilateral cultural collaborations.
'The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, signed a decree awarding me the Order of Dustlik (which translates to Friendship). I am delighted that today, two years later, I have finally been presented with this remarkable order, which I already hold in great esteem,' the actor announced via his Telegram channel.
The award recognizes Bezrukov’s contributions to strengthening ties between Uzbekistan and Russia and fostering cooperation in the spheres of culture and the performing arts. The actor warmly reflected on his previous tours across Uzbekistan, praising the local hospitality and the deep cultural resonance he shared with Uzbek audiences.
Notably, during an earlier trip to Uzbekistan, Bezrukov proposed the installation of a monument in Tashkent dedicated to renowned Russian poet Sergei Yesenin. Rossotrudnichestvo representatives have since confirmed that the statue is complete, with logistical arrangements and the final location approval in the Uzbek capital currently being finalized.
