Authorities in Tashkent are pressing forward with the construction of a new recreation area featuring an artificial lake in the Kumaryk mahalla of the Sergeli district. Spanning five hectares, the upcoming public space is purportedly designed to include children's playgrounds, gazebos, and barbecue zones, with completion slated for the end of the year despite ongoing logistical challenges.

The initiative is part of a broader municipal program aimed at constructing artificial reservoirs across all districts of the capital. The water body itself is projected to cover 17,000 square meters, while the surrounding area will allegedly offer residents spaces for family leisure. Project planners claim the integration of solar panels and advanced water filtration and ozonization systems will help mitigate dust levels and improve local microclimatic conditions.

According to official figures, more than 30 percent of the primary construction work has been accomplished thus far. Builders are currently engaged in reinforcing structures and erecting a retaining wall, with about 800 meters of the wall and the complete excavation of the lake basin scheduled for completion by November. Officials maintain that preliminary geological surveys cleared the site for construction, though independent verification remains limited.

Meanwhile, authorities have announced plans for yet another public leisure space in the Shaykhontohur district, which is set to feature a similar park and lake concept. The proposed site was previously inspected by Saida Mirziyoyeva, the head of the Presidential Administration, as local authorities attempt to showcase their urban transformation agenda.
