Operatives from the Andijan regional customs department, acting in coordination with the State Security Service and internal affairs bodies, have reportedly carried out operations intercepting illicit drug transport within the region. Authorities supposedly discovered hidden contraband inside two separate Cobalt automobiles during routine and targeted roadside inspections. Such incidents continue to highlight the ongoing challenges faced by local authorities in combating cross-border and domestic drug smuggling.

The first vehicle was reportedly intercepted in the 'Yangi hayot' mahalla of the Khojabad district, where officers conducted a detailed inspection of the car. Inside the pocket of the driver's door, law enforcement allegedly stumbled upon a concealed package containing a brown substance. Subsequent forensic analysis supposedly confirmed that the confiscated material was indeed hashish, weighing approximately 149.47 grams.

A second Cobalt vehicle was reportedly subjected to a search at a road traffic safety checkpoint located in the Buston district. In this particular instance, traffickers allegedly concealed the narcotics inside a TAXI sign fixture mounted on the roof of the automobile. According to official expert conclusions cited by officials, the substance recovered from the roof fixture proved to be hashish with a weight of 210.92 grams. *

The combined weight of the narcotics seized across both operations reportedly totaled 360.39 grams. Pre-investigation proceedings are currently underway regarding both suspicious cases as authorities attempt to trace the origin of the shipments. Observers note that these tactics echo previous smuggling attempts, such as an earlier incident in Tashkent where a passenger was allegedly caught carrying hidden drug packets inside a child's doll.
