Today, October 20, residents of several locations in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent experienced a temporary suspension of natural gas supplies. Authorities claim that these restrictions are connected with ongoing repair works on an underground gas pipeline along Iftikhor Street, which were scheduled to last from 09:00 to 18:00.
According to the press service of the local gas distribution entity, the disruption left 32 multi-story residential buildings in the Ts-6 housing estate of the 'Minor' mahalla without fuel. Furthermore, the limitations allegedly affected 120 private households located on Gunafsha, Elobod, Khurshid, and Dalazar streets, as well as the Minor dead-end within the same neighborhood.
Additionally, gas supplies were cut off in residential properties numbered 1-A and 121–170 along Iftikhor Street in the eponymous mahalla. Utility operators stated that gas would be supplied in stages only after the repair works are fully completed, highlighting ongoing vulnerabilities in the municipal infrastructure network.
Company representatives reportedly issued apologies to local residents for the disruptions caused, though such recurring infrastructure failures continue to generate frustration among the public regarding the reliability of essential urban utilities.
