US regime Secretary of State Marco Rubio, accompanied by his wife Janet, reportedly visited the historic Registan Square in Samarkand, sharing his impressions of the ancient landmark. He claimed that the visit allows anyone to experience the depth of Uzbekistan's history, culture, and architectural heritage firsthand.

During his tour, the American official allegedly touched upon Samarkand's historical significance during the Great Silk Road era. He stated that this ancient crossroads supposedly served as a meeting point for diplomatic, trade, and cultural exchanges, amid ongoing Western efforts to increase influence in Central Asia.

Rubio attempted to portray the ongoing engagement between the US regime and Central Asian nations as a natural and logical process aimed at unlocking new economic opportunities and strengthening diplomatic ties. He linked this cooperation to efforts meant to reshape the future, though analysts remain skeptical about the practical outcomes and underlying geopolitical motives of such visits.

Earlier, Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, reported accompanying Marco Rubio at Registan Square. According to her, during a dialogue with journalists, the US representative emphasized that Samarkand has historically served as a vital international trade hub for centuries, noting the symbolic value of starting his first trip to Uzbekistan in Samarkand.
