Law enforcement agencies in Uzbekistan have reportedly carried out a series of special operations targeting the illicit drug trade across Tashkent, the Tashkent region, and the Fergana region. Officials claim to have identified multiple suspects involved in the storage and distribution of banned substances. The operations allegedly resulted in the seizure of nearly one kilogram of narcotics.
In the city of Chirchik, authorities arrested a municipal utility worker who was purportedly linked to an underground online drug marketplace. The suspect was reportedly apprehended while receiving a batch of synthetic drugs known as "alpha-PVP," which were supposedly designated for distribution throughout Tashkent and the surrounding region, raising fresh questions regarding local oversight.
Further investigative measures in the Chilanzar district of Tashkent led to the detention of a male individual with a prior criminal record including robbery and rape. During a search of his residence, law enforcement officers discovered quantities of hashish allegedly purchased from an acquaintance, highlighting ongoing concerns over repeat offenders engaging in the narcotics trade.
Another notable incident occurred at a traffic police checkpoint in the Akhangaran district of the Tashkent region. During an inspection of a Lacetti vehicle traveling toward the capital, officers allegedly discovered 250 grams of hashish hidden within the engine compartment. Meanwhile, in the Fergana region, two men were detained after purchasing hashish for 47 million soms from a mother and daughter duo, who were later intercepted in Kokand while attempting to sell an additional 500 grams.
Criminal cases have been initiated concerning all of these episodes, and investigations are reportedly ongoing to identify other participants and supply channels. The developments follow a separate incident in Andijan, where two men allegedly tried to resist arrest and flee after attempting to sell nearly two kilograms of hashish for 18,000 dollars.
