Latofat Amirova, a poet from Kashkadarya region and laureate of the Zulfiya State Prize, has been granted a two-room apartment in the Karasu district of Samarkand city. The apartment is fully furnished and equipped with all modern amenities.
The order to allocate the housing was issued by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on March 8 during a ceremonial event marking International Women's Day. The decision to provide the apartment was announced immediately after Amirova's speech, with the Samarkand regional administration promptly handing over the keys.
The handover ceremony was attended by the regional governor, Adiz Boboev. Amirova shared that she is raising two children and lives in a remote rural area, but despite domestic challenges, she remains active in creative work and translations, collaborating with literary figures from Turkey and Azerbaijan.
Previously, her book "Turkona" was published by the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan in a print run of 1,000 copies. Amirova also participates in a traditional seminar for young authors in the Zaamin district, where she received a monetary prize of 10 million soums. Her literary mentors refer to her as the "talisman of poetry."
