The Asian Track Cycling Championships for various age categories have commenced in the Philippines. On the very first day of competition, the Uzbekistan national team achieved a historic result – the country's junior female cyclists secured a bronze medal in the team pursuit event.

This marks the first-ever medal for Uzbek athletes in a team discipline at a continental championship. The success is noted as a significant milestone for the development of cycling in Uzbekistan and the growth of young athletes, potentially bolstering the country's standing in international sports.

The competitions will continue until March 31, during which the Uzbekistan team will pursue additional medals. Further performances by the athletes are anticipated, which could yield more achievements for the nation.

Previously, cyclist Samira Ismoilova set a continental and world record in the individual pursuit at the Asian Track Cycling Championships for youth and adults, which concluded in Malaysia. This accomplishment further highlights Uzbekistan's progress in the sport of cycling.
