Overnight Russian strikes across eight regions of Ukraine have killed at least five people and wounded 30 others, according to Ukrainian officials.

The central city of Dnipro was hit hardest, with over 20 people reported wounded, including a nine-year-old child and two police officers, Ukraine's National Police said on Telegram.

Two people died in Nizhyn, Chernihiv region, while a one-year-old boy was among the wounded in Kharkiv region. A rescue operation is underway at a residential building in Dnipro.

Donetsk Governor Vadym Filashkin reported one wounded in Sloviansk and another in Kramatorsk. Six homes, five high-rises, a post office, and a church were damaged.

Ukraine's Air Force reported 619 Russian drones and 47 missiles launched; 610 were shot down or jammed. President Zelenskyy noted that most targets were civilian infrastructure.

The attacks followed the killing of a 75-year-old Ukrainian couple in Odesa. The EU approved new sanctions targeting Russia's energy, banking, and trade sectors, despite previous delays.
