Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Podrobno.uz. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will participate in the 59th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on May 3-4. The head of state is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech at the forum's opening ceremony and hold a series of bilateral meetings with heads of foreign delegations and international institutions.

The main theme of the summit is “Crossroads of Progress: Advancing an Interconnected Future for the Region.” The forum is expected to gather over 4,000 delegates, including government representatives from more than 100 countries, as well as leaders of the World Bank, IMF, and other major financial organizations. Key discussion topics include green transformation, digitalization, energy transition, and food security.

Uzbekistan is hosting the ADB annual meeting for the second time, underscoring its status as one of the bank's key partners. Cooperation between the parties, which began in 1995, has yielded impressive results: the joint project portfolio has now reached nearly $16 billion. Investments are directed toward infrastructure development, industrial support, and strengthening supply chains.
