India has blocked the social media account of the satirical 'Cockroach Janta Party' on platform X, citing national security concerns. Reports indicate its Instagram account, which has 20 million followers, may also face suspension.

The Quad foreign ministers' meeting is scheduled for May 26 in New Delhi, involving US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Indian External Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong, and Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi.

According to India's foreign ministry, the ministers will exchange views on advancing Quad cooperation, review ongoing initiatives, and discuss recent developments in the Indo-Pacific region and other international issues.

The Cockroach Janta Party was created as a parody after India's Chief Justice compared some youth to 'parasites' and 'cockroaches.' Founder Abhijeet Dipke launched the satirical party with a five-point manifesto targeting corruption and unemployment.

The party's Instagram account grew to 20 million followers in three days, surpassing the ruling BJP's 9 million. However, the government has reportedly initiated steps to block it as well.

The Quad, comprising the US, India, Japan, and Australia, aims to maintain a 'free and open Indo-Pacific,' a goal that has gained urgency after the US-Israeli war with Iran disrupted global trade.
