Switzerland came from behind to defeat 10-man Bosnia and Herzegovina 4-1 in their World Cup Group B clash at the Los Angeles Stadium, taking top spot in the group.
Substitute Johan Manzambi scored a late brace after coming on in the 71st minute, following goals from Ruben Vargas and Granit Xhaka. The Swiss erupted after Bosnia's Tarik Muharemovic was sent off in the 80th minute for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity.
Switzerland now lead the group with one win and one draw, despite a disappointing 1-1 draw against Qatar in their opener. The winner of Thursday's later match between Qatar and Canada will draw level on points.
Bosnian substitute Ermin Mahmic scored a thunderous volley in stoppage time, but it was a consolation. Bosnia remain on one point and must be more adventurous against Qatar to have any chance of advancing.
All five goals Bosnia have conceded came after the 70th minute. Switzerland coach Murat Yakin's decision to bring on Manzambi proved decisive, as the striker scored twice and set up another.
