US President Donald Trump on Friday unveiled a new interim presidential aircraft, Air Force One, at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.
The aircraft, a former Qatari-owned jumbo jet, was gifted to the US by Qatar and will serve as a 'bridge' solution until new Boeing planes arrive.
Trump described the plane as 'a flying White House at a level of luxury that nobody has ever seen before,' praising the quality of wood, materials, and engines.
The president thanked the Emir of Qatar and noted that the colors and design were to his taste.
Critics argued that accepting such a gift could violate strict rules on presidential gifts and raise conflict-of-interest questions regarding Trump's family businesses.
The US Air Force said the aircraft has begun 'commissioning flights' and that security modifications cost less than $400 million.
