Ireland secured a landmark T20 series victory over world champions India with a tense one-run win in Belfast on Sunday. The match at Stormont saw Ireland post 154-8 after a slow start, with Harry Tector scoring a fine 50 on his 100th T20 international appearance.

India-born Jai Moondra, who took a wicket with his first ball in international cricket on Friday, continued his impressive form by dismissing Sanju Samson lbw off the first ball of India's chase. He also removed Abhishek Sharma in the same over and later accounted for India captain Shreyas Iyer.

India regrouped after a rain delay, with Tilak Varma making 55 and Harshit Rana adding 21 late on, but they fell short at 153-9, handing Ireland their second consecutive win over India.

Teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who scored 776 runs in the Indian Premier League this season, was again omitted from the playing XI. The 15-year-old prodigy will have another chance to make his international debut in Wednesday's first T20 against England at Chester-le-Street.
