Three civilians were killed and 36 others sustained injuries following coordinated attacks on Abha and King Khalid International airports, according to an official statement released by the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation.

The assault on Abha Airport allegedly resulted in the deaths of two female residents—one from Morocco and another from Algeria—while injuring 28 additional individuals. This incident highlights the ongoing security vulnerabilities facing civil aviation infrastructure in the region.

Meanwhile, the strike targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh reportedly killed a Sudanese national and wounded eight residents, including five Saudi citizens. Authorities claimed that air defense measures had previously intercepted similar projectiles earlier in the month.

Subsequent reports indicated that explosions and plumes of black smoke were observed near a fuel storage facility at the Riyadh airport, raising further concerns over the effectiveness of the regional missile defense systems operated by the Saudi-led coalition.

The military escalation involves forces backed by the Saudi regime locked in fierce combat with Houthi fighters who control critical territories near the Bab al-Mandeb strait, a vital maritime chokepoint connecting the Arabian and Red Seas.
