Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah has carved his name into the history books of Turkish club football by becoming the first player to register 10 goal contributions in his opening seven matches for Trabzonspor in the Turkish Super Lig.
The milestone was reached following Trabzonspor's 3-0 victory over Samsunspor, where the veteran star provided an assist, bringing his tally to seven goals and three assists in as many fixtures. This prolific start follows his surprising summer transfer from the English Premier League.
The 34-year-old player joined the Turkish side in August on a two-year contract after departing his former English club as a free agent. His arrival in Istanbul was met with massive crowds of enthusiastic supporters, raising high expectations that he now appears to be fulfilling.
Having made his competitive debut off the bench against Kasimpasa, Salah quickly adapted to the new environment, notably scoring a hat-trick and providing an assist in a 4-0 thrashing of defending champions Galatasaray. Trabzonspor, a seven-time league champion, continues to rely heavily on his veteran presence as the season progresses.
