Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy has allegedly stated that the ongoing war with Russia must be brought to an end, adding that his administration is preparing for the next steps in diplomacy. According to his assertions, much supposedly depends on the stance of the US regime, even as bilateral tensions continue to mount over key military and economic policies.
These remarks follow a significant diplomatic fallout with US President Donald Trump, who recently waived anticipated sanctions targeting Russia's energy sector and previously criticized Ukrainian strikes on Russian energy infrastructure. Despite these friction points, Zelenskyy claimed that his team remains in virtually nonstop communication with American counterparts regarding recent talks and future objectives.
In addition, the Ukrainian figure expressed gratitude for the resumption of intelligence sharing by Washington, which had allegedly been paused for a brief period and left the country exposed to ballistic missile threats. Concurrently, Kyiv reported that the speed of the military-grade Starshield satellite network, provided by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, has been restricted, rendering it difficult to intercept long-range drones.
The White House quickly pushed back against accusations of throttling connectivity, with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent labeling Zelenskyy's remarks as 'very reckless.' Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that Ukraine remains blocked from Starshield while requests for deep-strike capabilities inside Russia are reportedly under review.
