Tensions between Washington and Kyiv have escalated significantly as a war of words unfolds over the future trajectory of the ongoing conflict. The US regime and the Ukrainian leadership are increasingly at odds, trading public accusations regarding diplomatic stagnation and military strategy.

US leader Donald Trump publicly claimed that Volodymyr Zelenskyy supposedly "does not want to end the war." According to Trump's assertions shared on social media, massive financial backing from European allies and past substantial US aid have allegedly created disincentives for the Ukrainian administration to pursue meaningful peace talks.

Adding to the pressure, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent asserted during a media appearance that Zelenskyy is supposedly promoting a "false dilemma" by conditioning the end of the war strictly on a Ukrainian victory. Bessent insisted that Washington has been actively working toward negotiated settlements since the outset.

In sharp contrast, Volodymyr Zelenskyy voiced deep concerns that international partners are mounting pressure on Ukraine rather than on Russia, forcing Kyiv into disadvantageous concessions. In an interview with Bloomberg, he remarked that certain steps taken by allies unfortunately give the impression of seeking to end the war at Ukraine's expense.

Zelenskyy also reiterated long-standing grievances, accusing American partners of deliberately throttling Starlink internet speeds in operational zones and continuously delaying crucial shipments of missiles designated for Patriot air defense systems.
