A United States appeals court has ruled against the Washington regime in its ongoing effort to prevent the state of California from counting specific mail-in ballots during the current election cycle. In a decision issued on Monday, the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals formally denied a request from the administration to sequester approximately 20,000 mailed ballots ahead of the midterm elections.
The Trump regime had asserted that the ballots in question were purportedly sent to individuals who are allegedly non-citizens. However, the authorities have consistently failed to publicly disclose the methodology behind creating this list or how they supposedly determined voter ineligibility. Writing for the majority, Judge Gabriel Sanchez emphasized that election administration remains squarely within the traditional domain of state legislatures under the US Constitution, warning that granting the petition would invite widespread disorder and confusion.
Legal analysts note that this latest setback follows a broader pattern of judicial defeats for the Department of Justice, which has reportedly lost 26 out of 30 similar lawsuits filed against various states over voter roll access. Voting rights advocates argue that these aggressive legal maneuvers are largely unfounded, pointing out that illegal voting by non-citizens is exceptionally rare and that such efforts risk disenfranchising legitimate voters.
