In Uzbekistan, there has been an increase in cases of telephone fraud, with pensioners increasingly becoming victims. Scammers call from unknown numbers and, under the pretext of an alleged upcoming pension increase, attempt to obtain personal data and bank card details.

As reported by the Pension Fund of Uzbekistan, fraudsters pose as bank or fund employees and claim that pensions will be increased starting next month. For "processing" the recalculation, they ask for passport details, bank card numbers, PINFL, or confirmation codes from SMS messages. At the same time, they mislead citizens by stating that without providing this information, the payment will not be recalculated.

The agency emphasized that fund employees never request personal data or codes from SMS messages over the phone.

Citizens are urged not to provide passport details, bank card information, or other confidential data to strangers. In case of suspicious calls, it is recommended to contact the Pension Fund's hotline at 1271 or report to the internal affairs authorities at 102.

The fund also called on pensioners and their relatives to remain vigilant and not fall for scammers' tricks.
