Uzbek Overseas Geology Company has commenced a geological exploration project in Afghanistan. The work aims to identify reserves of hydrocarbons, as well as iron and copper ore.

Under the project, exploration activities are being conducted on the Muhammad-Jandagar, Shamor, and Ahmadobod blocks. The primary objective is to locate hydrocarbon resources and deposits of iron and copper.

The official launch ceremony was attended by the Deputy Governor of Balkh Province, Maulavi Nurul Hodi Abu Idris, and the General Director of Uzbek Overseas Geology Company, Hayit Omonov.

It is reported that following negotiations with the Afghan side, the company obtained the necessary license to implement the project.
