Following the first meeting of the Uzbekistan-Tajikistan Supreme Interstate Council, a ceremony was held for the signing and exchange of bilateral documents. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon signed a joint statement on deepening strategic partnership and allied relations.
During the event, a broad package of documents was signed at the level of governments, ministries, and agencies, aimed at further developing multifaceted cooperation between the two countries. The documents cover key areas of interaction, including increasing trade turnover, developing industrial cooperation, implementing electronic systems for certifying the origin of goods, and using the "E-Permit" system.
Agreements were also reached on cooperation in healthcare, science, and the regulation of radio frequencies in border zones. The parties approved a series of programs, plans, and "roadmaps" for 2026–2028, concerning industry, innovation, mining, tourism, the agro-industrial complex, and cultural exchange.
Additionally, memoranda of understanding were signed on interaction in innovation, public service, finance, education, and the enforcement of judicial acts. The adopted documents are expected to create a solid foundation for further strengthening the strategic partnership and expanding allied relations between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
