In Moscow's SIZO-1 detention center on April 6, Yakubjon Yusufzoda, convicted as an accomplice in the 'Crocus City Hall' terrorist attack, committed suicide. The incident occurred in his cell, and despite resuscitation efforts by medical personnel, Yusufzoda could not be saved.

Yusufzoda was one of 15 defendants sentenced to life imprisonment on March 12 by the Western District Military Court for involvement in the horrific attack on the Crocus City Hall concert complex near Moscow on March 22, 2024. The investigation established that he acted as an accomplice, transferring funds to co-conspirators to cover their living expenses and preparation for the assault.

The court's final verdict imposed life sentences on four direct perpetrators (Shamsidin Fariduni, Dalerdjon Mirzoev, Muhammadsobir Fayzov, and Saidakrami Rachabalizoda) and 11 accomplices, including Yusufzoda. The main defendants were also fined 990,000 rubles.

Other participants in the logistical chain received substantial prison terms: Isroil, Dilar, and Aminchon Islomov, who provided housing and a car to the terrorists, were sentenced to 19 years and 11 months, while Alisher Kasimov, through whom an apartment was rented, received 22 years and 10 months.

The attack, which claimed 147 lives and injured 336 people, caused material damage estimated at 5.7 billion rubles due to the arson at the complex in Krasnogorsk.

In mid-March, defense lawyers for the four main perpetrators filed appeals challenging the life sentences. The investigation into the organizers of the attack continues as a separate case.
