Uzbekistan and Afghanistan have concluded 20 commercial agreements valued at over $400 million. These deals cover key sectors including textiles, raw materials, pharmaceuticals, and other industrial areas, aimed at expanding economic cooperation between the two nations.

According to the Afghan television channel Ariana News, the documents were signed during a business meeting in Uzbekistan's Fergana region, attended by an official Afghan trade delegation. Representatives from the private sectors of both countries participated in the negotiations, emphasizing the importance of strengthening cross-border trade and establishing long-term partnership relations.

The Afghan delegation was led by Zalgai Azimi, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Investments, and included prominent businessmen Abdullah Rahimi, Said Ahmad Nurzad, and Ubaidullah Hotak. The delegates visited major industrial facilities in the Fergana Valley to assess Uzbekistan's production capabilities and explore prospects for future collaboration.

Experts note that agreements of this scale have the potential to create jobs, increase exports, and gradually integrate Afghanistan into regional supply chains. The new accords demonstrate the growing dynamics of bilateral relations and the countries' aspiration to transform geographical proximity into economic partnership.

Previously, it was reported that Uzbekistan and Afghanistan are expanding pharmaceutical cooperation to $500 million, indicating ongoing efforts to bolster economic ties in the region.
