Starting June 30, 2026, international truck drivers from CIS countries will be allowed to stay in Russia for up to 180 days instead of the previous 90. However, a key condition must be met to benefit from this extension.

To use the new privilege, drivers must submit an application in advance through the Gosuslugi portal or the ruID app, attaching copies of their passport and documents confirming international transport. Driver identification will be automatic: application data will be cross-checked with border crossing records and the stated purpose of the trip.

If no application is submitted, the stay will be calculated under the general rule — no more than 90 days per year.

Detailed instructions for submitting the application are available on the website of the Uzbek Embassy in Russia.

Earlier reports indicated that the share of international truck transport of fruits and vegetables in Uzbekistan has significantly declined, from 84.7% in 2017 to 80.8% in 2023.
