Kazakhstan's Ministry of Defense has announced that the bodies of two more servicemen missing after the September 24 tragedy in the Caspian Sea have been discovered. The search and rescue operation was concluded on the morning of September 25.

The bodies were found today, September 25, at around 09:15. Rescuers and military personnel had continued searching without interruption after servicemen went missing in the sea the previous day. "During continuous search and rescue operations, the bodies of two previously missing servicemen — Sergeant Gumaro Mansur and sailor Turdybekuly Miras — were found," the Ministry of Defense reported.

The ministry expressed condolences to the families and friends of the deceased and stated that families would receive material and psychological assistance. The Prosecutor General's Office of Kazakhstan has launched a criminal case into the tragedy. The investigation is establishing the circumstances of the incident, including the conditions of the military exercises and compliance with safety requirements.

Recall that the tragedy occurred on September 24 during a combat training mission. Due to a sharp deterioration in weather and strong gusty winds, 17 military personnel were swept into the Caspian Sea. Three servicemen were rescued. Today, September 25, a Day of National Mourning has been declared in Kazakhstan for the victims.

This tragedy has sparked widespread public outcry and raised questions about the safety of military exercises in the region. While the families of the victims will receive all necessary support, the investigation must determine all the causes of the incident.
