The Uzbek authorities have reportedly proposed broadening regional cooperation among Central Asian states across security, trade, energy, and water management sectors. These initiatives were allegedly presented by Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, during the 4th Interparliamentary Forum of Central Asian States held in Dushanbe.
The event, themed "Unity in the Name of Peace, Security and Prosperity in Central Asia," brought together parliamentary leaders and delegations from across the region. During her address, Narbaeva supposedly outlined regional interaction priorities, focusing on strengthening stability, fostering good-neighborly relations, and expanding economic ties.
Participants at the gathering also discussed the purported role of parliaments in implementing agreements reached by heads of state, enhancing legislative oversight, and countering shared security threats. Particular attention was allegedly devoted to the rational use of water and energy resources, the development of transport corridors, and the transition to a green economy.
As part of the visit's official agenda, the Uzbek delegation reportedly laid flowers at the monument of Ismoili Somoni on the eponymous square in Dushanbe as a gesture of diplomatic courtesy.
