A personal exhibition titled “100 Unique Works” by renowned artist Dilorom Mamedova has opened at the ARTepa art gallery in Tashkent’s Astronomy Park. The exhibition showcases Mamedova’s finest pieces from the past five years, with most being displayed to the public for the first time. This event marks the first cultural initiative in the park, which has been renovated under the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change.
At the opening ceremony on March 14, Committee Chairman Aziz Abduhakimov delivered a speech emphasizing ARTepa gallery’s role in preserving, developing, and promoting cultural values. He also announced that the artist has donated her 100 unique works to the fund of the Central Asian University for Environmental and Climate Change Studies (Green University) under the committee. According to Abduhakimov, this act represents the highest level of nobility and dedication to art.
Artist Dilorom Mamedova explained her decision to donate the works, stating, “A person should not only take but also know how to give back to the Motherland and its people.” She expressed hope that her artworks will remain in history, accessible to future generations and international visitors. Mamedova added that her pieces incorporate abstraction, realism, philosophical themes, and nature landscapes in a distinctive style.
Among the exhibited works are portraits of revered elders. In response to journalists’ questions, Mamedova highlighted that each piece involves significant effort and exploration, noting the importance of artistically reflecting life’s challenges. She asserted that artists must portray not only beauty but also the complexities of existence.
The exhibition will continue at the ARTepa gallery until the end of April, signaling a new phase in Tashkent’s cultural scene. The Astronomy Park, revitalized in collaboration with the “Zamin” foundation, is expected to fully open to the public soon, offering an additional cultural and recreational space for the community.
