The Uzbekistan Foundation for the Development of Culture and Arts is preparing to host the 10th International Jazz Festival. The event will take place from April 28 to May 13 at the open-air venue behind the Palace of International Forums in Tashkent. All concerts are free of charge for the public.
The festival will open with legendary American bassist Stanley Clarke. The 72-year-old musician began his career in the 1970s and gained fame with Chick Corea's Return To Forever. He will perform in Tashkent with a group of young musicians, presenting his classic works in a new arrangement.
On May 1, Therr Maitz frontman Anton Belyaev and Leonid Agutin will perform together. Belyaev rose to fame after the “Voice” project and launched the LAB TV show, while Agutin has been a frequent guest on LAB, making their duet highly anticipated.
On May 4, British group Incognito vocalist Tony Momrelle returns to Tashkent. The band has a nearly 50-year history and released a new album “Music. Magic. Ironic” in 2025, blending acid jazz, funk, and hip-hop.
On May 6, Armenian pianist Tigran Hamasyan will present his new album “Manifeste”, combining ethnic motifs, jazz fusion, and progressive rock. On May 7, Manchester trio GoGo Penguin will perform, known for fusing jazz with electronica and minimalism.
Local groups such as Anush Band, Jazzkent, Soundtravel Jazz Quartet, East Band & Skyband, and Jazzirama will also perform. On May 11 and 13, classic big band and pop jazz concerts will take place. The closing concert will be led by Mansur Tashmatov.
