A court in the city of Ohangaron, Tashkent region, has sentenced an 18-year-old man and two of his accomplices to seven days of administrative detention for creating and spreading a fake video about a patrol officer. The trio was found guilty of disseminating false information and disobeying lawful orders from law enforcement officials.

An investigation revealed that the accusations—claiming the officer had assaulted the honor of a 14-year-old girl, which were widely shared on social media on the night of April 27-28—were entirely fabricated. The detained individual confessed to slandering the officer out of personal animosity and issued a public apology. The situation escalated when the suspect refused to comply with police orders during questioning at the precinct and provoked a conflict on the premises.

Despite the administrative detention, the case is not closed. Authorities are continuing investigations under more serious charges, including deliberate defamation of a police officer and spreading false information online. Additionally, the group may face liability for damaging a vehicle they blocked and broke during the video recording.

Law enforcement officials emphasized that attempts to manipulate public opinion through fake content will not go unpunished. This incident serves as a stark reminder that slander and the dissemination of false information in the digital space carry inevitable legal consequences.
