Several officials in the Andijan region have been caught in illegal activities, the State Security Service (DXX) reported.

A chief specialist of the Andijan regional office of the State Assets Management Agency demanded $15,000 from a businessman. The businessman was accused of violating contract terms for a state property in Izboskan district, and his case was under appeal.

The specialist promised to use high-ranking connections to secure a favorable court ruling. He was arrested while receiving the money through a third party.

In another case, an engineer of the Andijan branch of 'Hududiy elektr tarmoqlari' JSC was detained. He demanded $15,000 from a businessman to reduce a calculated damage of 650 million soums for illegal electricity use at a rice drying plant to 40 million soums. The engineer was caught red-handed while receiving $10,000.

The head of the Cadastre department in one of the region's districts promised to allocate 25 sotiks of land for housing and farming to a citizen for $3,000. He also provided fake documents confirming the land allocation.

However, an inspection revealed the land was illegally allocated, and the citizen was fined 82 million soums. The cadastre official was exposed while trying to return the money through a third party.

Criminal cases have been initiated on all these incidents, and investigations are ongoing.
