One of the brightest stars of Uzbek theater and cinema, Hamza State Prize laureate Gavhar Zokirova was born on September 10, 1949, in the Nurafshan district of Tashkent region. Her life path was marked by boundless love for art and dedication to her craft. After graduating from high school, she studied at the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute, but her heart always yearned for the stage, and in 1971 she successfully graduated from the Tashkent State Theater and Art Institute.

Since 1971, Gavhar Zokirova has been an actress at the Hamza Theater (now the Uzbek National Academic Drama Theater). Her first performance was in the play "Parvoz." This debut opened the way to the big stage for her, and in the following years, she won the deep love of audiences with her unique talent. Over her career, the actress has played in more than 100 performances, such as "Othello," "Abu Rayhan Beruni," "The Revolt of the Brides," "Sahibkiran Temur," "Seeking Salvation," and "The Pain of Others." For her portrayal of Gulbahor in the play "The Rich and the Servant," she was awarded the Hamza State Prize.

Gavhar Zokirova left a bright mark not only on the theatrical stage but also in cinema. In 1978−1988, she starred in films such as "Weddings Are Joyful," "The Diamond Belt," "The Train from Childhood Station," and "The Hill." In the 1990s, she participated in films like "Tangalik Bolalar," "Iron Man," and "Tilsimoy — The Wonderful Girl." In addition, she appeared in the films "Sevinch," "Sarvinoz," and "Kulba."
